How to Remove Shortcuts from Chrome New Tab Page? Add the Remove Most Visited Pages Extension to Chrome Deleting Avionic Shortcuts.

Google Chrome is a powerful browser used as a marketing tool by Google. When you open the browser or open a new tab, by default, it will show a page with the title as “New Tab”. This new tab page shows Google search box, links for many Google products like Gmail. It will show a list of thumbnails or falcons of the websites you have recently viewed as shortcuts. 

These shortcuts or thumbnails history may look like immeasurable options so that you can easily access the pages. But it will be annoying in many situations like screen sharing or showing your desktop to others. Anyone can clearly see those thumbnails, which is an immediate intrusion into your privacy.

Check or change your passwords. 

You may get an alert from Chrome if you use a password and username combination that has been compromised in a data leak on a third-party website or app. Compromised password and username combinations are unsafe because they’ve been published online. 

We recommend that you substitute any compromised passwords as soon as you can. You can follow the instructions in Chrome to change your password on the site where you’ve used that password and check your accumulated passwords for any other site the password may be kept on. 

Chrome makes sure that your passwords & username are protected so they can’t be read by Google.

Necessary: You must be signed in to Chrome to get notifications. 

To start or stop getting these notifications: 

1. On your computer, open Chrome.
2. At the top right, click More   Settings.
3. Under "People," click Sync and Google services.
4. Under “Other Google services,” click “Warn you if passwords are exposed in a data breach” on or off. 

Important: This feature is only available if you have turned “Safe Browsing” on.

1. Disable Shortcuts on New Tab Page (Version 78+)

If you are using Chrome version 78 or later, Google will show shortcuts either from your history or based on your visit sites. You can choose what to show or altogether disable all the shortcuts on the new tab page.

• Open Chrome browser. If you have any other page as your home page, open a new tab.
• Click on the “Customize” button in the lower right corner.
• Click “Shortcuts” from the sidebar.
• You will see two options – shortcuts from your history and shortcuts from the most visited site. Choose the one you want to show if you're going to continue with your shortcuts.
• If you want to separate the shortcuts, then enable the “Hide shortcuts” switch to altogether remove all shortcuts from the new tab page.

2. Add the Remove Most Visited Pages Extension to Chrome

Users can remove most visited page shortcuts with the Remove Most Visited Pages shortcuts extension. That extension actually redirects the New Tab page to the Google homepage, almost precisely like the want New Tab page. However, users can’t customise the page’s background as it doesn’t support themes.

Click Add to Chrome on the Remove Most Visited Pages page to add that extension to the browser. After that, the browser’s URL toolbar will include a Remove Most Visited Pages icon to highlight that the extension is on. 

The Google New Tab page will no longer display any page shortcuts long as the width is on. Users can turn off the wing by entering ‘chrome://extensions/’ in the URL bar and then clicking the button at the bottom right of the Remove Most Visited Pages box.

3. Deleting Avionic Shortcuts 

Instead of simply disabling the shortcuts, you can also eliminate them from your new tab page. Launch Google Chrome and hover your mouse over one of the shortcut avionic images. Click on the three dots button called “Edit Shortcut”.

On the popup that appears, click the “Remove” button to delete the shortcut icon from the new tab page.

How To View Saved Passwords

To view the passwords you’ve saved, go to passwords.google.com. There, you’ll discover a list of accounts with saved passwords.

1. To see a password, select Preview.
2. To delete a password, select Delete.

F you enter a new password on a site, Chrome will ask to save it. To accept, click Save.

• To see the password that will be saved, click Preview.
• If there are multiple passwords on the page, click the Down arrow. Choose the password you want to be saved.
• If your username is blank or incorrect, click the text box next to "Username." Enter the username you want to be saved.
• If you want to save a different password, click the text box next to "Password." Enter the password you want to be saved.

Start or stop saving passwords.

By default, Chrome offers to save your password. You can turn this title off or on at any time.

1. Go to My Computer on your computer and open Chrome.
2. At the top right, click Profile   Passwords.
3. Turn Offer to save passwords on or off.
